Il documentario Àrbores di Francesco Bussalai è stato selezionato nella sezione Made in Italy del 24° Festival CinemAmbiente di Torino.
La proiezione ufficiale si terrà sabato 2 ottobre 2021 alle ore 20.30 al Cinema Massimo di via Giuseppe Verdi, 18 a Torino.
Accompagnati dai racconti di Grazia Deledda, uno sguardo sulle creature del monte Ortobene, per vivere la storia perduta degli alberi della Sardegna
Di giorno in giorno, d’ora in ora, i colpi di scure risuonano più vicini e più forti, mentre tutta la foresta si copre di fiori dorati, e il vento di giugno si fa più caldo e odoroso.
Mai la foresta fu più bella e fiorita: forse sente giunta la sua ultima primavera e vuole inebriarsi dei suoi tepori e delle sue fragranze, per dimenticare che la morte si avanza. (Grazia Deledda, Colpi di Scure, 1905).
SINOSSI
L’Isola di Sardegna fu letteralmente rasa al suolo come per un’invasione barbarica.
Caddero le foreste che ne regolavano il clima e la media delle precipitazioni atmosferiche.

Durante il 1800, una speculazione selvaggia guidata dai governo piemontese dei Savoia, rade al suolo l’ottanta percento dei boschi della Sardegna. Nel 1861 il regno di Sardegna si trasforma in Regno d’Italia e la Sardegna paga il suo tributo al nuovo Stato diventando, ormai brulla, l’Isola delle pecore. L’isola disboscata e delle pecore.
Cantato da Grazia Deledda, Nobel per la letteratura nel 1926, Il bosco del monte Ortobene, a Nuoro, ha subito, nella seconda metà dell’800, la medesima sorte. Oggi, dopo gli speculatori, i taglialegna, i carbonai, gli incendi, la foresta ricresce. La notte, gli animali del bosco, cinghiali, martore, volpi, donnole, ricci, si riprendono i loro spazi e sembrano incontrarsi per mangiare e danzare insieme. Dalle ceppaie di quei lecci millenari gli alberi rinascono. Ma l’albero è sempre lui, ha sempre mille anni.
Come dice Sainkho, cantante delle foreste siberiane, gli alberi sono creature viventi, che hanno un legame indissolubile con le persone vive, soprattutto perché custodiscono lo spirito degli antenati e delle generazioni che ci hanno preceduto. Generazioni di persone che rispettavano gli spiriti degli alberi, delle rocce e dei fiori, che vivevano in armonia tra di loro e con la natura. Come Nikola, Massimo, Tzia Gavina, vecchi alberi di oltre 90 anni che il loro Monte lo hanno abitato, curato, rispettato.
Oggi il bosco ricresce, Checco cura le sue capre, Gianmario si arrampica sugli alberi e Donatella legge Grazia Deledda a Giulia e a Giacomo per farli addormentare.
Con i colpi di scure dell’800, insieme agli alberi perdemmo anche la memoria di una Sardegna boscosa e piena di acque, di un popolo che viveva in armonia con essa. Oggi il bosco ricresce.
L’acqua, come la memoria, piano piano, ritorna…
Un lavoro di osservazione fatto di 3 giorni di riprese al mese, giorno e notte, per 24 mesi. Una natura raccontata quasi in tempo reale.
