Samuel Beckett è noto in tutto il mondo per i suoi testi teatrali, ma pochi conoscono la sua carriera di romanziere. Tra il 1951 e il 1953 lâautore dette vita a tre romanzi, che vengono definiti (contro la volontĂ dello scrittore) una trilogia: Molloy, Malone muore e Lâinnominabile. Dai tre romanzi ho tratto un copione monologante, dove lâessere che parla, porta in scene le mille sfaccettature che si dipanano lungo la narrazione; un essere che a tratti è solo, a tratti è accompagnato da unâaltra presenza, enigmatica, indefinibile, a fuoco nella propria indeterminatezza. La mia drammaturgia affida a unâunica voce la narrazione dei tre mondi creati dallâautore irlandese: chiuso in un mondo chiuso, un essere umano attende, parla, ricorda, si interroga. Un Autore degno di questo nome, del resto, non è altro che un uomo. E un uomo non è altro che un essere che cerca per tutta la vita la stessa cosa. Un omaggio non soltanto a unâopera ma allo spirito di Beckett, al suo lavoro e al suo mondo, un viaggio alla scoperta delle sue pagine meno note ma non per questo meno efficaci e meravigliose.

Beckett è Storia.  Beckett è rivoluzione. Beckett ĂŠ pensiero sintetico, scrittura asciutta, riflessiva e disegna ancora oggi, profondi solchi nella sabbia del nostro âcapireâ, ridefinendo la posizione dellâuomo in rapporto allo spazio e al tempo. Sposta lâobbiettivo allâinterno di noi. Nessuno escluso.
Grazie allâ incontro con il drammaturgo Francesco Tozzi abbiamo potuto creare un percorso che attraversa i tre ROMANZI (Malone Muore, Molloy, Innominabile) alternato a frammenti dal TEATRO.  Un monologo che fa protagonista la voce stessa dellâautore nel suo percorso di scrittura. Uno studio che dimostra come la parola in Beckett romanziere mantiene sempre una forza e una vitalitĂ teatrale.
Lâincontro Beckett/Benedetti Ê un corto circuito, un binomio potente come Beckett esige. Come una Winnie dei âGIORNI FELICIâ fatta uomo, imprigionato nel suo destino, ripercorre con ironica allucinazione la linea poetica ed esistenziale della scrittura beckettiana.
Un Beckett disperato e divertente che con un turbine di parole ci travolge per poi lanciarci nello spazio oltre il tempo dove tutto ĂŠ possibile. Impone l âazione contro lâinerzia dellâuomo che di fronte al destino, perduto, non coglie gli stimoli che la vita offre.
Un testo spirituale e poetico che unâincandescente Beckett/Benedetti evoca come un urlo di urgenza alla vita.
Una sfida per lâuomo di esistere ad ogni costo.
Il supporto di Dario Guidi e delle atmosfere sonore di David Barittoni rinchiudono lâattore in un labirinto spaziale e sonoro da rituale dantesco.

Nelle sere del 19, 20 e 21 febbraio, a fine spettacolo, proseguono gli incontri/dibattito del Teatro Basilica.

Uno spazio di 15/20 minuti â post spettacolo â in cui si discuterĂ del teatro di Beckett dopo aver assistito allo spettacolo.
